Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Effective date: 24 June 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the permitted and prohibited uses of the My Home Call application, a My Home Call kiosk, and any associated services (collectively, the “Service”). It is designed to protect the integrity, security, and availability of the Service for all users and to prevent misuse. Your use of the Service is conditioned on your compliance with this AUP, and it should be read together with our Terms of Use, End User Licence Agreement (EULA), Privacy Policy, Data Retention Policy, and Fair Usage Policy.

By accessing or using My Home Call, you agree to abide by this AUP.

1. About My Home Call

My Home Call is a biometric safety platform. It gives a registered account holder a secure way to reach their saved emergency contacts and share their What3Words location from any phone or borrowed device, without needing their own phone and without exposing personal contact details. Identity is confirmed by facial recognition, and all biometric matching is performed on My Home Call’s servers.

When the Service is activated, it contacts the saved emergency contact you have chosen. My Home Call does not contact the emergency services (999, 911, or equivalents). At a My Home Call kiosk in a school, voice calling is disabled and the kiosk sends an SMS to a verified emergency contact, which includes the What3Words location.

2. General principles of acceptable use

You agree to use My Home Call in a manner that is:

  • Lawful: compliant with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
  • Ethical: respectful of the rights and privacy of others.
  • Responsible: used in a way that does not harm the Service, other users, or third parties.
  • Intended: consistent with the primary purpose of the Service, which is to reach your own saved emergency contacts.

3. Prohibited uses

The following uses of My Home Call are strictly prohibited.

Unlawful or fraudulent activities

  • Using the Service for any illegal activity, including storing or transmitting illegal content, engaging in fraud, or facilitating any criminal enterprise.
  • Impersonating any person or entity, or misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity.
  • Providing false, inaccurate, or misleading personal information.

  • Using the Service to harass, stalk, threaten, defame, or abuse others.
  • Transmitting any content that is discriminatory, racist, hateful, or otherwise objectionable.

Security violations

  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other users’ accounts, or related systems or networks.
  • Circumventing or attempting to circumvent any security features or access controls of the Service.
  • Introducing viruses, malware, worms, time bombs, Trojan horses, or any other harmful or malicious code into the Service or its related systems.
  • Engaging in any activity that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper working of the Service, its servers, or networks (for example, denial of service attacks).
  • Scanning or probing our systems for vulnerabilities without explicit prior written authorisation.

Misuse of information and data

  • Using any information obtained through the Service for any purpose other than reaching your own saved emergency contacts, as the Service intends.
  • Collecting, harvesting, or storing personal data about other users without their express consent.
  • Engaging in data mining, scraping, or any form of automated data extraction from the Service beyond what is necessary for your personal use as intended.
  • Creating multiple accounts to bypass usage limits, abuse promotional or pilot offers, or for any other dishonest purpose.

Commercial use and resale

  • Reselling, sublicensing, leasing, renting, or otherwise commercially exploiting any part of the Service.
  • Integrating My Home Call with other commercial services or products without the explicit written agreement of My Home Call Ltd.

Disruption of service

  • Any use that interferes with or disrupts the Service, its functionality, or the ability of other users to access or use the Service.
  • Excessive or automated access requests that place an unreasonable burden on our infrastructure, as further defined in our Fair Usage Policy.

Violation of intellectual property

  • Infringing My Home Call’s or any third party’s intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets.
  • Decompiling, reverse engineering, disassembling, or attempting to derive the source code of the application.

4. Sub-processors and integrated services

To deliver the Service, My Home Call uses a limited number of sub-processors that operate under contract on documented instructions from My Home Call (for example, What3Words for location, Tech5 for biometric verification, and Loqate for address verification). These sub-processors act on our behalf and not for their own purposes. Where you interact with features powered by these providers, you agree not to use them in any way that would breach their terms or this AUP. Further detail on how we use sub-processors is set out in our Privacy Policy.

5. Monitoring and enforcement

My Home Call reserves the right, but does not assume the obligation, to monitor use of the Service for compliance with this AUP. We may investigate any suspected breach and take appropriate action at our discretion, including:

  • Issuing a warning.
  • Temporarily suspending or restricting your account or access to the Service.
  • Permanently terminating your account or access to the Service.
  • Reporting prohibited activity to law enforcement authorities.
  • Pursuing legal action as appropriate.

We may remove or disable access to any content or data that breaches this AUP or is otherwise objectionable, at our discretion, without prior notice.

6. Reporting violations

If you become aware of any breach of this AUP, please report it to us at hello@myhomecall.com.

7. Changes to this policy

We may modify this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Any changes take effect when the updated policy is posted on our website or within the application. We will endeavour to notify you of significant changes via the app or your registered email. Your continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.

By using My Home Call, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Acceptable Use Policy.
